Isn’t the Tuesday after a long weekend the worst? It certainly was today. It took forever to get out the door because I kept forgetting little things, and then the day was just cold, gray, miserable and dragged on and on. Seriously, it was jacket weather, and yesterday, it was in the high 70s.

I am ridiculously sore from boot camp yesterday. I took it every week when my gym introduced it in February, and then I stopped because there were so many people you could barely move. I figured there wouldn’t be that many people there on Memorial Day, and I was right. I actually really enjoy feeling sore — I feel like I’m making progress. I love the feeling in my thighs when I go up and down the stairs. It actually makes me want to move more, because I can feel each of those muscles well.

Still, the soreness kept me from any sort of strength training. I pounded out 45 minutes of intervals on the elliptical, stretched and headed home. I’m making a concentrated effort to do more core work but it was not happening today.

I came home and had my favorite go-to dinner as of late.

That’s whole wheat pasta, veggies, a turkey sausage cheddar link cut up into pieces with pesto. Turkey sausage is perfect here — delicious and the whole link is 120 calories.

I don’t always make a dessert but it is my hungry week.

This is a scoop of fat free vanilla frozen yogurt (and it is delicious, it’s Blue Bunny and I’ll be buying it again) with strawberries and a slight drizzle of chocolate syrup (I used 1/2 teaspoon, and it was surprisingly  just enough).

I know all of hungry week won’t go this healthfully (I think there will be a trip to the Pizza Hut lunch buffet – gulp – before it’s all said and done) but I’m glad today went so well. I don’t know about you other ladies, but even though hungry week happens like clockwork, it still seems to surprise me every time.
