I started running on June 14, 2009, following the popular Couch to 5K program from CoolRunning.com. I had been working out in the gym for four years prior to that, mostly on elliptical machines and through group fitness classes. On Sept. 19, 2009, I completed my first 5K race in 32 minutes, 51 seconds.
- Sept. 19: Hollidaysburg Haul 5K
- Oct. 4: Johnstown Marathon 5k
- Dec. 31: Lights on the Lake 5K (PR)
- June 12: Run for the Pies 5K

Way to go girl! Keep it up and you’ll be running 10k in no time….
My first 5K was actually on the same day. I’m now hooked and, like you, working up to 10K, fingers crossed.

Running is great ..It took me from 140Ibs to 108 Ibs within six months I also changed my eating habits …But running is really a terrific work out . I entered my first 5k last year and it was awesome ….
